restore VM guest to new host
The vcenter server is not an issue. I have a host with some hardware issues. I have he VM backed up to a NAS and now I want to restore it to a different host that IS registered with VMpro, but there does not seem to be a clear path to do this.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

In this case, I think you need to use the Recover Virtual Machines Wizard and make sure that the 'Register with the configuration from the backup?' checkbox is not selected.
Then when you click next, the wizard will ask you which cluster and host you want to restore the VM to:
