Before wiring the plug make sure you know how the receptacle wiring the plug make sure you know how the receptacle is wired. The following precautions must be taken: • The wiring to the battery must have proper overcurrent protection in the form of a fuse or circuit breaker. This is because the appliance or device probably requires 120 volts to run a certain component, like a timer or clock, in addition to the 220 volts needed for the actual appliance to run. Procedure. Undo the large screw on the pin side of the plug and remove the cover. Loosen the screws on the terminals and cord clamp, and if necessary remove any existing wires. Position the new flex against the plug such that its tip is level with the top edge of the plug, and mark the position of the cord clamp on the flex. Now use the cable Step 1: Prepare for Vehicle Wiring Installation If your vehicle already has a 4-way connector, then great! Simply plug the trailer-end connector into the vehicle-end connector, and you're ready to roll. If your vehicle does not have a 4-way connector, it's usually pretty simple to add one. Just keep in mind that wiring is a custom component. Wiring diagram for a domestic plug. The neutral wire is on the left of the plug and coloured blue and the earth wire, at the top of the plug, coloured green and yellow. NOTE: It is also recommended that you make sure that the earth wire is the longest of all 3 wires and has a kink or loop in it (as you can see from the image to the right). Crimp-type F connector: Fit the crimp ring of the F connector over the end of the cable and slide it down over the outer jacket and shielding wires. Slide it until the white plastic layer makes contact with the h*** inside the connector. You should see about 1/4 inch of copper wire inside the end of the F connector. Continue to the final step.
