Find the 5-digit number that's labeled as the "Factory Code" so you know the combination to unlock your safe. Write down the combination or commit it to memory so you're able to open the safe later on. Access codes There are 3 possible ways to unlock and access the safe: 1. Factory code (Found on the fi rst page of this guide) You can always open the safe by entering the pre-set 5-digit factory code. This code cannot be deleted. 2. User code If you prefer to employ your own code, you can program the safe to open using a 5-digit user code of A. with its factory code, or. B. with its Emergency Key, if it is the type that can be opened with the Emergency Key alone. or C. you may apply to Sentry for the factory-set code, or master code. or D. you may have that master code noted down on the manual for the safe, if you have it, in ink either on the inside cover, or on the back cover Tug the handle of the safe in the opposite direction from how you turn it to open it. Enter the combo code if you have an electronic safe, otherwise, try turning the key. This will release some of the pressure on the bolt work and can help the handle come loose. I just replaced the stuck actuator in my Sentry safe. I bought the actuator on ebay for $0.99 with $2 shipping. It looks like the code is stored on the actuator itself (not the panel). The actuator comes with a sticker printed with the factory code. The old code that I used with old actuator, does not work once I replace the actuator.
