I have configured a multiple copy backup policy.

When I look at tasks - backups, I can see that some days backup was done with full copy type and other days with partial copy type.

Where can I configure the copy type?

Thanks,

Hello Matias,

The copy type is defined on each VM. Specifically if the Export option is enabled you will run full backups, if the CBT option is enabled you will run partial backups.

See the attached document for an example.

Jerry,

That was the configuration I was using.  But as I assumed CBT setting was the responsible of doing partial backups, I set CBT to NO.  The problem is that vmPRO continue doing partial backups.

I don't know how to restore a partial backup.  I tried to restore one, but the VM did not boot.

Moreover, partial backups does not work if I want to boot a VM directly from the backup.

You can try selecting all VMs and disable both Export and CBT (if still enabled) options. Then select all the VMs again and only enable the Export option. You next scheduled backup and any-there after should be full backups.

Not sure why a restore from a CBT backup would fail seeing vmPro compiles from the CBT back to the last full backup when you restore the VM.

If you are able to see full backups, run a test restore from one of those full backups to make sure the restore works correctly.

You need to use the vmPro Recovery Wizard to restore a CBT backup.
