Hello Bhautik Shah,
vmPRO can be used with tape, but only in association with Linear Tape File System (LTFS) format. Please see the document enclosed for more information.
Seeing that de-duplication is driven by the target storage and not by vmPRO you should be able to point vmPRO to use an iscsi target storage as long as the iscsi target storage can host a CIFS or NFS share.
Yes ,
I Have deploy FreeNas and mount scsi with windows machine , add in storage with iscsi storage.
When i am doing backup it will gives me an error.
Is the error coming from vmPRO? If so what is the error you are receiving?
Hi Jerry,
Thanks for your reply.
please find the below error log.
VM Name | Status | Size | Elapsed Time | Type | Start Time | End Time | Error |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
/export/vmbackup_test/VMBackup_Test | failed | 8.44 KB | 1 minute 33 seconds | full | 14 Mar 12:57:13 | 14 Mar 12:58:46 | Error in copying file '/export/vmbackup_test/VMBackup_Test/VMBackup_Test-flat.vmdk': Space usage of datastore 'datastore1' (uuid 5162efd7-fd91422a-fd85-eca86b75b765), VM 'VMBackup_Test', has exceeded the threshold 80%.. Return code: 1021 |
This is telling you that the target storage is over the threshold you have set in vmPRO under the advanced settings.
You can either increase the threshold or increase the data store size.
I would suggest to increase the data store size seeing that if there is not enough room for the snapshot on the data store the vmPRO backup will still fail.
