Hi,
Our backup administrator is having issues backing up SQL servers with vmPRO. In our environment, the SQL drive are set up with one drive and shortcut it to the mount points. For example
we create one drive as drive E:. Then in Disk Management MMC, we create disk partitions as
SQL Data
Tlog
Backup
Then we create it as the shortcut mount points to these disks. In summary, there is only one map drive (E) is use and the other three disks (SQL Data, Tlog, Backup) mount points create shortcut on drive E. Please see screenshot below. My question is, because of the way we assign these SQL disks as mount points rather then drive, is vmPRO capable of backing up these SQL disks are mount points without assign drive letters?

Could you post the screenshot again, Hunter? Are these disks you are mapping to attached to the VM as VMDK disks?
Thank you very much DoubleDensity. Yes, Each of these disks are assign as VMDK disks. It just that they are not assign as drive but through mount points. Please see attached screenshot of an example of one of our SQL server.
Thanks again for your help.
Kind Regard,
Hunter
Do you have the Quantum VSS agent installed inside the SQL Server? Is Quiesce/VSS/log truncation enabled for the VM in the vmPRO console?
Also, what is the error that you get?
