Quantum Forum for DXi V5000

I have copied with TotalCommander a couple GB of data to CIFS share and noticed that all files dates are set to moment of copy not to original ones.

How to avoid this?

The DXi V1000 is desgined to be an archive for data not a target for primary storage. Basically that means you need to use backup software to send data to the DXi. That being said there should be some options with TotalCommander to presever the orginal file data when sending the data to the DXi.

What is for you the difference beetwen primary storage and backup storage? Backup storage could not preserve dates? Using backup program changes anything? Do you mean that I should have a special list with original dates? Strange propostion. How do you want to check if file on primary storage is different from archived one?

They are preserved during copy. After a while, when compressing engine shrinks files, they are changed IMHO to date+time of last change. Change just made by compressor. System does not preserve timestamps during "work" on files.
