CIFS Share Permissions
We're testing the DXi-V1000 with NetBackup. Everything seems to work fine except that NetBackup can't delete expired images on the DXi. The NetBackup activity log says, "image delete failed ... access not allowed." When we look at the permissions in the DXi NAS configuration, permissions are listed as "Read & Write". How can we make that "Read, Write and Delete"? Or is that the problem? The NetBackup user is a Domain Admin and we have Domain Admins listed as Share Administrators. Thanks.

Read/Write should be significent permissions. Can you login the V1000 with a UNC path (\\ip_v100\share) with the same NBU Credentials and read/write/delete files?

I just tried that, and I can delete files. Guess it's something with NetBackup. Thanks.

This problem was caused by the NetBackup services on the NetBackup media server running as local system rather than the domain login. Once the services were started under the domain login, NetBackup was able to remove expired images.
