Quantum Forum for DXi V5000

We get an error message every time we try to backup our server with VSS enabled. We have installed the Quatum VSS agent in different ways, automatic install, manual install, uninstalled and installed again. If we deactivate VSS everything works just fine. Snapshot from vCenter with "Quiesce" checked or unchecked works just fine.

Error message from vmPRO:
Error in copying file '/export/Nelson/SBS Server 2011/SBS Server 2011_2-pancbt.vmdk': Cannot create snapshot 'Quantum: 368c8b00666611e399b3005056932700' for VM 'SBS Server 2011':FilesystemQuiesceFault:Cannot create a quiesced snapshot because the create snapshot operation exceeded the time limit for holding off I/O in the frozen virtual machine.: Input/output error. Hello Stefan,

It looks like it is just taking to long for the snapshot to be removed. Make sure there is not something on the VM that is blocking the vmPro VSS plugin (requester) from talking to the the VSS writer on the VM. Anti-virus programs will do this. Take a look at the application logs and system logs on the VM, it may give you some hints.

If the VM does not have a transactional-based application like Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, Active Directory, Oracle, etc then just leave VSS not enabled as you only need VSS to quiesce transactional-based databases before pulling the the snapshots.
