The "PRO" running here has been failing lately with the statement 'unable to access storage'

Nothing has changed on the NAS.  The CIFS share is still there, as is data.

There are hundreds of Gigs of ffree space.

A PC logged in with the same credentials set sees and can write to the archive folder.

If I edit the 'smartmotion policy' and then save it without changing anything, I can fire off a manual backup which DOES work.

The next scheduled run WILL FAIL with this message.  PRO has been updated  as of July 7.

Please advise.

Are there any other vmPRO appliances or other devices accessing that share? Are any other services opening files in the backup folder aside from vmPRO?

Could you try running the following command from the vmPRO command line and trying again?

vmPRO> system restart services all

Pro is the only program accessing that share.  I will attempt to run the command and see if it makes a difference.  BTW, I had already upgraded and restarted PRO previously.

I too am having this issue. Was a solution found before I have to restart everything?

Check the status of the share in vmPRO / SmartMotion Backup / Storage

If it's "Unavailable" or "Mounted", edit the share and after the "Configure Storage" window appears, click OK. If there is no other problem with the NAS, the share should be "Mounted" again and backup should work.

This has to be checked on every vmPRO node - even if you are using a vmPRO group config.
