smartcp: Error writing file. Input/output error Error writing file.

Hello,

I have vmpro for two years working well, yesterday i got the following error on some backups.

smartcp: Error writing file. (buffer 0x7fa7cc0008c0, count 131072, offset 7267680256) : Input/output error Error writing file. (buffer 0x7fa7cc0008c0, count 131072, offset 7267680256) : Input/output error

Can someone help?

Typically smartcp (smart copy) errors indicate an issue with the target storage when vmPRO is writing the vmdk files to that storage. Can you verify if there were any circumstances that would have made the target storage not available to vmPRO when it was attempting to write the data?

Thanks for the reply, we really have problems in our backup destination. We will fix the problem and see if the vmpro problems disapear.
