Hi Does VMPro do FLR for Linux VMs with multiple VMDKs in a LVM configuration?

Thanks

Hello James,

I am not 100% sure what a LVM configuration is, but in general if vmPRO can see the vmdk files and back them up then you can do a file level restore.

For example in my lab I have a RH6 VM configured.

In vmPRO the VM is enabled for export and CBT backups.

When we mount the UNC path and navigate to the /recover/files folder, we can see the individual files that reside on the VM and we would be able to restore them.

Yes, if you are using LVM1 or LVM2 with a partition table on the disk then vmPRO can provide FLR as normal.

If you have additional VMDK disks which LVM is using as raw devices without partition tables then vmPRO will not be able to perform FLR automatically, but there are some manual steps which can be used to recover files from the volume.

Have you tried performing FLR against your volumes to see if it works?
